OBSCURE 1970s HORROR / EXPLOITATION / GORE

A genuinely obscure piece of American underground horror history! BODY SHOP, also known as DOCTOR GORE, is a deranged early 1970s low-budget exploitation film directed by J.G. Patterson Jr.

Following the death of his wife, a deranged surgeon becomes obsessed with bringing her back to life, harvesting body parts from unsuspecting women to construct his own grotesque creation. A twisted combination of mad-scientist horror, crude surgical gore, sleaze, and regional drive-in filmmaking.

Released on VHS by in 1986, this notorious BIG BOX edition is a relic of the golden age of independently distributed horror tapes. Long before the internet made forgotten exploitation films easy to discover, titles like BODY SHOP lurked on the bottom shelves of video rental stores, attracting horror fanatics with lurid artwork and promises of unspeakable atrocities.

An essential piece of vintage video-store history for collectors of obscure horror, regional exploitation cinema, 1970s gore films, and original 1980s BIG BOX VHS releases.
