Inspired by the infamous years before Entombed was formed, this artwork embodies the rotting and primitive atmosphere of the late-1980s Swedish tape-trading underground, when Nihilist helped lay the foundation for the sound that would soon define Swedish death metal across the world.

Before the Entombed name existed, Nihilist unleashed a series of legendary demos built on filthy HM-2 distortion, savage aggression, and chainsaw guitar tone that became essential to the evolution of extreme metal. The ghost-themed imagery captures the bleak energy of those formative recordings — cold Stockholm rehearsal spaces, underground cassette exchanges, and the suffocating heaviness that spread through the global death metal scene from Sweden’s darkest underground.
